The 45C273 is a Reliance Electric produced Memory Expansion Module. Depending on the year it was being manufactured, this module may have also been a part of the Asea Brown Boveri or Baldor Reliance product lines. This module is no longer being supported by the manufacturers; however, AX Control does attempt to keep it in stock. We typically sell this item as a reconditioned or as a new surplus part.

The 45C273 is a 48k Memory Expansion Card that was created for the AutoMate 40 and 40X series of Logic Controllers. The standard AutoMate 40 controller typically comes with a base memory of 8k x 16. This type of memory is a non-volatile application memory. If you need more functionality in your system, you can put one of these optional expansion cards into the system. You can have up to two expansion cards added to your system for a total maximum memory of 104k x 16 for the 40 series and 32k x16 max for the 40X series. This particular card is the largest one you can get for this system. It is a 48k memory card. These cards also come in sizes 8k, 16k, and 32k.

The 45C273 is a very thin card. It can be plugged in and stored into a Reliance Electric Card Rack. The only thing on its front panel is a trio of LED indicator lights. These are labeled ACTIVE, ERROR, and READY. There are a pair of mounting brackets on the top and bottom of the card. These fit onto the Card Rack mounting brackets and attach using screws.
