About the 45C30
The 45C30 is an R-NET AutoMate Gateway created by Reliance Electric. This system may have also been produced under the Asea Brown Boveri or Baldor Reliance product lines depending on what year it was actually in production.
The 45C30 is an AutoMate R-NET Gateway that has a 24 VDC power supply. This system has an AC ripple that is 4V peak to peak. It has a max load of 3A at 24VDC. It has a 50-watt dissipation and a fuse size of 3AMP 3AG.
The power supply on the 45C30 is a very important part of this gateway system. It provides the necessary power to the R-NET processor and the Interface Processor. The power supply has the following standard features: it has a voltage check circuit, a power detection circuit that watches for power failures, a current limit, and is fully fused. The interface processor is contained inside of the 45C30. It is a microprocessor and is in charge of communication with the main host computer. The R-NET processor has an Intel 8031 microprocessor.
The 45C30 has four diagnostic LED lights on its faceplate. They are labeled RECV, XMIT, READY, and POWER. The faceplate also has a communications port that can a cable run to a host computer. This connector is an ETA connector. It has an R-NET connection port. It has a user-replaceable 250 VAC fuse. The Ready Contact is used for emergency shutdowns and will open if it detects a diagnostic that has failed. There is also a terminal strip where connections can be made.
