About the 45C307
The 45C307 is an Enhanced Processor created by Reliance Electric. This system may have also been sold under the Asea Brown Boveri and Baldor Reliance product lines depending on when it was actually in production.
The 45C307 is considered to be an enhanced AutoMate 30 Processor Card. It has 8k x 16 application memory and enhanced software. This card’s main function is to control the speed, power current, and flexibility of an AutoMate system. When this card is plugged into a Card Rack Assembly and attached to a power supply and an I/O, it then can become a stand-alone controller. The enhanced software provided on this card has more specific instructions for high-level tasks. These tasks can include data manipulation, interprocessor communication, file handling, and remote I/O and PID control.
The 45C307 can talk to four I/O ports creating up to 64 digital or 16 analog I/Os. The other option is to create four local heads at 256 digital or 64 analog I/Os. The system can also have any type of mixture of these I/Os or local heads. Communication between the devices occurs at a rate of 250k baud. Data integrity is maintained using parity.
All of the different versions of this processor have the ability to handle the following: 1024 registers, 128 numerical I/Os, being Intel Multibus compatible, have online diagnostic, and 4k or 8k non-volatile R/W application memory.
The 45C307 has five LED status indicator lights. They are labeled RUN, READY, FORCING, COM DATA< and RAIL FAULT. The faceplate for this system also comes with a female RJ Connector. Under that connection is four male connectors labeled 0, 1, 2, and 3.
