About the 45C33
The 45C33 is an AutoMate Drive System Remote I/O Module. It was initially created by Reliance Electric but may have also been sold by Baldor Reliance or ABB at some point. This module is no longer being supported by any of these companies and may be hard to find now. AX Control does try to keep the 45C33 in stock.
The 45C33 is also known as a DCS Remote Head. This module has the ability to be mounted at a distance away from field devices. This device is the center of an I/O subsystem. The remote head can receive data from a remote I/O processor that is located within the master rack, update the modules on the I/O rails, and then send an update back to the master rack.
The 45C33 has many features on its faceplate. It has a set of six LED status indicators. They are labeled Run, Power, CPU Ready, Fault MSB, Fault LSB, and Rail Fault. Below the LEDs is a user-replaceable fuse. Below that are input power connections and a ready contact on a terminal strip. On the right side of the faceplate is an RS-232 female connection port for the programmer connection. There is a 7-segment LED indicator and a coaxial connection to the R-Net. Below that are I/O rail connection ports. There are factory drilled air holes in the sides of the 45C33 that help air circulate to the internal module components. There is a flat panel on the back of this module that is used for mounting it.
