About the 45c17
The 45C17 is a module component manufactured by Reliance Electric for their AutoMax Distributed Control System. A typical AutoMax system is composed of one or more units of Multi-bus rack based or PC-card based units. Units communicate with each other using the DCS-Net network or connect to I/O using a remote I/O network. AutoMax is a multitasking, multi-language system that is capable of using Enhanced BASIC, Control Block language, and ladder logic language, depending on the specific needs of programming.
The 45C17 is a Programmable Logic Controller. This is an Automate15 Programmable Controller with an R-Net Interface. R-Net is a peer-to-peer industrial network that is capable of connecting (up to) thirty-two stations/nodes together using a single coaxial cable. The R-Net interface can also be used for full speed data communication to Automate controllers via bus cards or serial gateways. The 45C17 includes such features as
-
Host computer interface capability
-
Extensive built-in diagnostics
-
Industrial packaging
-
64 digital I/O and internal coils
-
1K x 16 Non-volatile Memory
The 45C17 includes an exterior metal enclosure with faceplate, a processor board (57609,) a power supply (59007-3H,) and an Rnet interface (59005-610B.) The front panel includes a fuse, six screw connections, a coaxial connector, five plug connectors (four male and one female,) and six LED status indicators.
