The 53120 unit is an encoder I/O module that was designed to be included as part of the AutoMax PLC line that was made by Reliance Electric. You may find this product listed with the model number 0-53120. Depending on the when and where this product was made, it may use the model number 53120, listed here, or 0-53120. Rest assured that there is no difference between the two model numbers.

The 53120 encoder I/O module is a thin, rectangular device with a faceplate that is full of different components that will prove useful to the operator. The most noticeable component on the faceplate would be the numerous I/O ports that run down almost the entire length of the faceplate. These ports are broken up into different sections, all of which are labeled on the left side of the ports. Above the ports toward the top of the 53120 encoder I/O module’s faceplate, you will see a large status LED that is labeled with “READY” to its right.

For your convenience, the 53120 encoder I/O module, just like most other AutoMax modules with similar designs, are outfitted with two tabs that make removing the module from the rack much easier.
