The 57406 is a Distributed Control System made by Reliance Electric. This system could have also been made and sold by Asea Brown Boveri and Baldor Reliance depending on what year it was being manufactured. This system is no longer being supported by any of the manufacturers. AX Control does attempt to keep it in stock as a reconditioned or surplus stock item.  The 57406 was a drive controller module for an AutoMax system. It is meant to be one part of a drive regulator group. A drive controller group is also called a DCS Drive Regulator. In this system is the 57406, a drive analog I/O module, a drive digital I/O module, and a power interface module.

The 57406 is a slim card module that has a Fault Code gauge. It has a faceplate with several features on it. It as an LED light under it that is labeled OK. There is a test switch that is labeled 1,2, and 3. There is a large, red RESET button.  There are three RS-232 female connections labeled GATE CONNECTOR BOX 1, GATE CONNECTOR BOX 2, and TO POWER MODULE INTERFACE. There is a white label on the left side with the specifications for the 57406. This module can be plugged directly into a storage rack into the female card slots. It can then be secured into place on the rack using screws to secure the two brackets on the faceplate to brackets located on the storage rack.
