About the 57408
The 57408 is a Power Module Interface for an AutoMax controller system that was made by Reliance Electric. There is a strong possibility that this interface was also produced by Baldor Reliance and Asea Brown Boveri depending on what years it was actually in production.
The 57408 is comprised of a printed circuit board and faceplate that are almost completely encased in a protective chassis. The back of the board is exposed. This unit plugs directly into an AutoMax Storage Rack Assembly. You can slide this card into two card slots on the backplane of the rack and then completely secure the module into place using two sets of brackets on the rack and on the faceplate. The brackets on the faceplate can also be used to easily slide the module out of the rack assembly.
On the faceplate of the 57408, there are three sets of RS-232 female connectors. They are clearly labeled TO POWER MODULE, TO ANALOG I/O, and TO DRIVE CONTROLLER. There is a set of four terminals that can have wires connected to it. These terminals are labeled as CURRENT CALIBRATION. There is a small white label on the left side of the module that will give you specific product specifications.
The 57408 is no longer being maintained by any of the previous manufacturing companies. However, AX Control does try to keep it in stock. We will typically offer this item as a reconditioned or new surplus item. Please check our website for its availability and shipping options.
