The 57441 is a Modbus Plus Interface Module made by Reliance Electric. This module was possibly also sold by Asea Brown Boveri or Baldor Reliance depending on what year it was being manufactured. The 57441 was an Interface Module that is a component of the AutoMax control system. This card allows the connection of the Modicon Modbus Plus network to an AutoMax DCS system. Modicon 984 programmable controllers can have access to peer-to-peer connections over the network at a speed of 1Mbaud. As many as 32 nodes can be part of the Modbus Plus network. The 57441 can be placed in any of the slots on the AutoMax storage rack as long as the rack has at least one processor. This card has the ability to talk to at most 4 different processors on the rack. 

The 57441 is a circuit board that is surrounded by a protecting chassis and has a faceplate. The faceplate has several features. It contains a 7-segment LED error code indicator labeled FAULT CODE. It has an RS-232 female connection port that is labeled NETWORK. It has two STATION ADDRESS thumbwheel switches. This module can connect to the rack as it slides into the two female card slots on the backplane of the rack. It can then be further secured using brackets on the faceplate and the storage rack.
