The 57652 is an AutoMax Universal Drive Controller (UDC) module. The UDC’s main function is to control one or two AC and/or DC drives. Up to 10 different UDCs can be placed on the storage rack at one time, which allows the rack to control up to twenty AC or DC drives. It can be plugged into an AutoMax storage rack, attaching to the backplane. The UDC has the capability to talk to AutoMax processors that are also present on the storage rack.
The 57652 has a non-volatile flash memory installed onto it. This memory has the ability to keep the UDC tasks, the drive configuration information, and the operating systems for the UDC and the Power Module Interfaces. To be able to exchange data with the processors on the rack, the UDC has a dual-port memory. This memory allows it to act as a storage buffer.
The 57652 the main parts of this device are a printed circuit board and a housing enclosure. It also has a faceplate. This module has a bank of LED lights that are labeled DRV B FLT, COMM B OK, DRV A FLT, COMM A OK, OK OK, and CARD OK. On its faceplate, it has test switches, ports for Comm A and Comm B, and meter ports. It also has two mounting brackets; one on the top and one on the bottom. This allows for easy mounting to the storage rack.
