About the 57C404
The 57C404 is a Network Communications Card that was originally created by Reliance Electric. There is always the possibility that Asea Brown Boveri or Baldor Reliance also sold this card as a part of their lines. None of these particular manufacturers are able to support the 57C404 anymore. Despite this device being hard to come by, AX Control does try to keep it in stock. We can offer it as a refurbished or new surplus item when it is in stock. Please refer to our website for product availability.
The 57C404 is a DCS Network Communications Module made for an AutoMax control system. This module can send control and status information between two or more AutoMax controllers as long as they are on the same network. This device has an 845K baud communication speed rate and can maintain a distributed network length of 3000 ft. You can use an RS-232C port to perform an internal diagnostic to see if there are any types of hardware failures on the system.
The 57C404’s faceplate has several features. It has a 7-segment LED indicator that is labeled Fault Code. This indicator lets people know what error codes are being registered by the 57C404. There are two thumbwheel switches that are both labeled DROP NUMBER and then individually labeled 1ST and 2ND. There are two connection ports located below the thumbwheel switches labeled NETWORK and MONITOR.
This module can connect directly to an AutoMax storage rack using the P1 and P2 female card slots on the backplane of the rack. When you’ve slid the card into the rack, you can then secure it into place with screws and brackets.
