About the 57C409
Reliance Electric produced the 57C409 Input Module. There is a very strong possibility that Asea Brown Boveri or Baldor Reliance also sold this module depending on what year it was actually in production. The 57C409 is no longer being supported by any of these original producers. Despite this part being a little difficult to obtain, AX Control does make every effort to keep it in stock when possible. Product availability is listed on our website.
The 57C409 was originally created to be an AutoMax Multibus I/O System. It had an input rating of +/-1, 5, 10, and 20V. This part could allow two input channels to be used in its analog Input Mode. It had a four to twenty mA current range. The 57C409 had a program interruption and a 12-bit resolution with polarity. This module could use its software to select input filters and sampling rates. This system had the ability to convert analog to digital input values using the sample-and-hold circuits. You can reduce abnormal software signal noise by using a selectable feature on the low pass filters. Doing this will also allow you to have anti-aliasing for higher frequencies.
The 57C409 is comprised of a circuit board with a faceplate that is held in a protecting chassis. This card can be installed into an AutoMax rack to be stored with other modules and cards assigned to the AutoMax system. This card can be slid into a card slot on the backplane of the rack and then properly secured using brackets and screws. There are two brackets on the rack and two on the module. These brackets can also be used to remove the card safely from the rack.
