About the 57C416
The 57C416 is an AutoMax Remote I/O Communications Module that was designed primarily by Reliance Electric. This component was possibly also produced by Baldor Reliance or Asea Brown Boveri. None of these initial producers are maintaining this part anymore. AX Control makes every attempt to keep it on hand though. Please look at our website for information about its availability.
The 57C416 is a Digital Remote I/O created to be a key component of an AutoMax system. This module has become a necessary part of the remote I/O system. It provides the most needed hardware to facilitate communication to occur between remote racks and the AutoMax Processor Module Master Rack. This card has a standard ampere rating of 2.5 amps at 5VDCs.
The 57C416 is a slim card assembly system that has a circuit board encased in a chassis. This card also has a faceplate that has several key components on it. It has a 7-segment LED that will flash error codes as it detects them. It has a little green OK LED that lets you know the system is running as it should. It has a pair of RS-232 female connectors that are labeled NETWORK and MONITOR. The monitor connector has 25 pins and the network connector has 9. The RS-232 communication port on this component can be used to test the overall functionality of the device using a serial module. It also has the power to show the status limitations that are a part of the module and the network. The 57C416 also has a pair of thumbwheel dials that have the label DROP NUMBER just above them.
