About the 57C420
Reliance Electric designed the 57C420 to be a DC Output Module. Depending on the years it was in production, this component was also probably sold as a Baldor Reliance or Asea Brown Boveri product.
The 57C420 was created to be a component within an AutoMax system. This output module has 32 channels that produce 750 mAmps per channel. It is rated 5-24 VDCs. This component has a 5000-volt isolation that is between the logic commons and the outputs. It also has four outputs per each of these isolated commons. This unit is comprised of a circuit board with a faceplate that has been protectively encased in a hard enclosure. The 57C420 has a maximum operating voltage of 30 DCV. This module should only be operating in temperatures between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius.
The 57C420 has a bank of indicator LEDs. They are numerically labeled with the numbers 0 to 31. This system also has two RS-232 cables that are labeled CN1 and CN2. You can use 57C376 cables to connect to these ports. These cables are sold separately from this module. This module is comprised of a circuit board with a faceplate that has been protectively encased in a hard enclosure. This entire setup can be put in an AutoMax card storage rack. To put it on the rack, you need to slide it into the female card slots that are positioned on the backplane of the rack. After it is in place, you can secure it by attaching two screws to the braces on the module and rack.
