About the 57C421
The 57C421 is Pulse Tach Input Module that was originally designed by Reliance Electric. Depending on the years it was in production, this module was highly likely also sold by Asea Brown Boveri or Baldor Reliance. None of these original manufacturers are maintaining this part anymore and it has become hard to locate. AX Control does, however, make every attempt to keep it in stock. Please consult our website for the availability status of the 57C421.
Reliance Electric created the 57C421 as a vital component for the AutoMax Multibus I/O System. This module uses 8 resistors on various AutoMax program tasks. These resistors have the ability to be read from or written to program tasks. This board does not come with onboard jumpers. This module has a 5 volt to 12 VDC input voltage. It has a frequency input maximum of 100 kHz. It has an isolation of 500-volt RMS. It has a 24-bit comparator and counter. This system also has 3-channel input pulses that are phase A, phase B, and Z-pulse. These pulses can be used to track the zero position.
The 57C421 has a bank of LED indicators that are labeled COUNT STOP, LATCH, CLEAR, FORWARD, REVERSE, and CCLK OK. These LEDs monitor the interrupts that are generated. There is a bank of 20 female connection ports. There are two dials that are labeled. One is labeled A, B, C, D, E, F, and G while the other is numerically labeled with the numbers 1-7.
