About the 61C326
The 61C326 is an I/O Saver – Rail I/O to PLC Interface Module for an AutoMate system. It was initially created by Reliance Electric and possibly mass-produced by ABB, Baldor Reliance, and Allen-Bradley. It has since been discontinued by all of these companies, but AX Control still attempts to keep the 61C326 in stock.
The 61C326 is 120/240 VAC, 0.5/0.25 amps, and 50/60 Hz. It is used to convert I/O and integrate Reliance and Allen-Bradley control systems. The module has the ability to control various field devices that use an Allen-Bradley (AB) remote network to connect to a Reliance AutoMate Rail I/O system. This module is considered to be an adapter within the AB remote I/O link. This module can connect directly to a local head, digital I/O rail, analog rail module, and to an AutoMax master rack.
The 61C326 has many different features on its chassis. There are factory drilled holes on the sides, bottom, and top of this module. These help to promote air circulation to the internal components within the module. There is a panel on the back of the module that can be used along with four screws to mount the module to a flat surface. It has four connection ports that can be used to connect I/O devices. There is a terminal strip that can be used to connect the PLC-5 or the AutoMax master rack. There is a user-replaceable fuse. There are five other connection ports on the top right-hand side of the faceplate next to six LED status indicators.
