About the 61C542
The 61C542 is a 16 Channel Input Module created by Reliance Electric. Depending on what year it was manufactured, this input module may have also been produced by Baldor Reliance and Asea Brown Boveri as part of their line of products.
The 61C542 is a +/- 10VDC Analog Input Module that was created to be a part of an AutoMate system. This module is the voltage version of this particular card. The inputs for this card are normally wired into a termination panel. From there, the termination panel has the power to talk to the Multibus input module using a connection to a 5ft cable. This 5ft cable typically comes with the termination panel. There is a total of 16 input connections present on the termination panel. An additional termination panel is not required for these input connections. All 16 channels can be put on the same terminal.
This card has many important features. It has 16 channels of voltage input, square root extraction, automatic calibration, 13-bit resolution. It can be scaled or unscaled, run an average of 1-60 samples, and has a broken wire detection system.
The 61C542 can be secured into a remote or local card storage rack assembly. In order to secure it into the rack, you need to slide the card through the open front side of the rack assembly. Plug the card directly into a female card slot located on the backplane of the rack. Then use two screws to mount the module onto the rack.
