About the 804100-RX
The 804100-RX is a module component manufactured by Reliance Electric for their Automax line. Automax is a programmable, microprocessor-based control system designed as a DCS or distributed control system. It is able to perform real-time control. Automax supports BASIC, control block programs, and ladder logic programs.
The 804100-RX functions as a Remote I/O Head module. This consists of a metal enclosure, a faceplate, a power supply (0-59007-37,) a processor board (0-57607-2,) and a network card (0-59005-5RJ.) The module is rated 120/240 V ac 0.5/0.25A 50/60 Hz. Its front faceplate includes a toggle switch, six LED indicators, a terminal block, a fuse, and six additional connectors. LEDs on the faceplate are marked Run, Power, CPU Ready, Faul MSB, Faul LSB, and Rail Fault. Most of these will not light unless a fault is present.
The 804100-RX contains a watchdog timer that is enabled as soon as the unit is powered up. The microprocessor board must reset this watchdog timer within a specified time or the microprocessor will shut down. At that time the RUN and CPU READY LEDs will turn off.
The 804100-RX is designed to mount vertically in an enclosure or on a surface with proper air flow. Be sure to allow proper clearance for attachment of cables when installing this module (minimum clearance of two inches.) More information on the module dimensions, installation requirements, and safety procedures can be found through manufacturer data sheets and user guides. Reliance Electric provided original technical support for this module as its manufacturer.
