About the 805401-7R
This unit is a 4-Slot Parallel Gate Amplifier Rack by Reliance Electric. This rack system may have also been produced through ABB or Baldor Reliance depending on its production dates. This rack is now considered to be a part of the Reliance legacy series and maybe a little difficult to locate. Please refer to AX Control for its availability.
The 805401-7R is a PGA rack. In its most simple form, this rack is simply a means of storing a power supply and PGA modules. This rack has a built-in fan assembly system. The fan assembly helps to promote airflow to the cards and modules the user can plug into the rack. This rack system also comes with a built-in power supply that does take up two of the rack’s slots. This rack can hold one or two PGA modules. On the backplane of the rack, there are places for two channels (A and B). Channel A is used for forwarding gate signals and channel B is used for reversing gate signals.
The 805401-7R is comprised of a sheet metal card-cage style enclosure and a backplane. The backplane has a parallel bus and DIN-type connectors that can be used to slide modules into place. The connectors are 48-pin and there are three of them. One is for the power supply while the other two are for modules.
The PGA system is used to help facilitate gate pulse signals that are typically produced by an AutoMax DC power technology module. It can drive up to 24 six thyristor power bridges in parallel.
