About the AA5S141
The AA5S141 is a module component from Reliance Electric, designed as part of their Automax DCS (distributed control system.) Automax is a real-time operating system that is ideal for applications that require millisecond response times.
The AA5S141 is an AC/DC Power Converter/Power Supply Module. This is a printed circuit board assembly contained in a metal enclosure that fits into a 6- 10- or 16- slot rack. The front faceplate of this module includes two LED indicators(one for power and one for fault,) a fuse, a terminal block connector, and a key switch. The Terminal block is used to connect 115 VAC power plus a ground wire from the rack to the module. The key switch is used to route TTL signals through the Multibus backplane to the processor module or modules to allow lockout of programming functions. This is a system security feature. The key switch has three positions: Memory protect, Program, and Set up.
The AA5S141 has a Multibus backplane that supports two sets of bus lines. These serve as the electrical connection for all slots in the rack. The module’s P1 connector conforms to the IEEE Microcomputer System Bus Standard for the P796 bus, compliance level D16M20I16. It is used for control signals and communication between different modules in the rack.
More information on the AA5S141 module, its individual components, its function, or installation or replacement procedures may be found through instruction manuals and user guides published by Reliance Electric. Please follow all safety and handling procedures as specified by the manufacturer.
