About the O-57404-
The O-57404- is a network communications module that Reliance Electric developed for the AutoMax series. AX Control might have this product in stock despite it being no longer available in the original manufacturer’s stock.
The O-57404- network communications module enables the AutoMax system to transmit control and status data between two or more AutoMax racks in order to create a distributed control system. The network that the O-57404- network communications module connects to uses a master/slave software protocol. The master control all of the transmissions on the network and the slave is responsible for broadcasting all of the drops receiving the response data packet.
On the module’s faceplate, there is a 25-pin D-shell connector that is used for the RS-232 compatible asynchronous link. There are also two thumbwheel switches that are used to configure the network drop number. In addition to that, there is a seven-segment LED display that is used to show the operator the error codes.
The O-57404- network communications module has a few errors that are associated with its operation. Whenever the “OK” indicator light is off, the O-57404- network communications module, a local watchdog failure has most likely occurred. If the LED display shows the error code “A,” then there is an invalid drop number. This occurs whenever the number on the thumbwheel switches is larger than 55. If the LED display shows the error code “C,” then there has been a network failure. The error code 31, 56, 57, and 58 on the LED display indicates a bus error. Lastly, the error code 44 on the LED display indicates that an interrupt allocation error has occurred.
