Reliance Electric created the O-57412- AutoMax DCS 5000 Field Regulator Module. Baldor Electric and ABB may have also sold this module in their product lines. Reliance is no longer offering any type of support for this board and it may be difficult to find. AX Control does try to keep it in stock as a refurbished or new surplus item.

The O-57412- is a field regulator board that was made for an AutoMax system. There is a terminal strip located on its faceplate that is labeled with the word “Current.” The faceplate also sports a trio of serial RS-232 female ports. These ports are d-shell connections. There is a single 25-pin connection and two 9-pin connections. The bottom 9-pin connection is labeled isolated armature – volts. The top 9-pin connection is labeled To field power module. The 25-pin connection has been labeled To field gate connector.

The O-57412- can easily be plugged into the backplane on an AutoMax rack assembly system. This card rack will feature many other cards and modules including processors and a power supply. This card only takes up a single slot on the rack. It slides in through the open side of the rack and plugs directly into a card slot port on the backplane of the rack. The user can then further secure the card using the mounting brackets on the card and the rack and two screws. If the card needs to be removed from the rack, those same mounting brackets on the card can be used to carefully slide the card out of its slot on the rack.
