About the DC1-1
DC1-1 is a Reliance Electric controller that is part of the Reliance Electric DC-1 controller series. It is a reliance DC drive. DC1-1 is contained in an open chassis without the operator’s devices. This controller does not have basic or dynamic braking or switch reversing. This controller has fixed-rate acceleration, an adjustable current limit, a motor speed adjustment by potentiometer, independently adjustable maximum and minimum speeds by separate potentiometers, a reconnectable jumper for armature voltage (90 VDC or 180 VDC) or tachometer feedback regulation, and adjustable IR drop compensation.
Before changing the direction of rotation, the drive must be at zero speed. Damage to the motor may occur if the user does not observe this precaution. The drive also features a run/stop control, an internal motor thermostat for motor overload protection, an incoming line fuse for short circuit protection, a half-wave field supply for shunt field excitation of shunt-wound D-C motors, a full-wave, half controlled armature rectifier with a back diode for an improved form factor, and provisions for use of remote start and/or stop control. The controller is operable without modification on either 50 or 60 Hz power.
The current limit is 10 to 250% of the rated current, the IR drop compensation is 0 to 12% of the rated armature voltage, and the minimum speed is 10 to 50% of the motor base speed with the ability to provide zero minimum speed by a reconnectable jumper. The associated printed circuit board assembly is 0-57210. Do not attempt to operate or service the controller without professional electrical qualifications.
