About the DC1-12
Reliance Electric manufactures the DC1 series of controller, of which DC1-12 is a part. DC1-12 is in a NEMA 12 enclosure with operator’s devices. This controller is basic and comes complete with torque regulation. An adjustable speed limit and two reconnectable jumpers are available on the continuous duty controller. The maximum allowable symmetrical A-C line fault current is 5000. The controller incoming line fuse is ceramic, Type ABC, 250 volts, and 20 amps. The maximum altitude is 3300 feet (1000 meters), and the ambient temperature for NEMA 12 enclosed models must remain between 0° C and 55° C.
The minimum torque is 10 to 50% of the rated motor torque, the maximum torque is 50 to 150% of the rated motor torque, and the speed/voltage limit is 80 to 110% of the base speed. Install and wire the controller after opening. The factory setting for the regulation mode jumper should be 230 VAC. The factory setting for the line voltage selection jumper should be 230 volts. The factory setting for the armature current scaling jumper should be 25 amperes. The factory setting for the minimum speed torque range jumper is 10% and common. Remember to verify the proper positioning of all jumpers (J3, J4, J5, J6, and J8) within the controller. Next, terminate the incoming line power (L1 and L2). Then terminate the power wiring to the motor armature, and terminate the shunt field wiring to the motor. Lastly, connect any cover mounted devices, remote operator devices or remote reference to the controller. From there, the user can begin start up and adjustments.
