About the DC1-3
Reliance Electric manufactures DC1-3, a DC1 drive controller. The load capacity for the controller is 1 minute at 150%. The DC1 controller are rated by their motor horsepower, which range from ¼ HP to 1 HP for 115 volt A-C input controllers and ½ HP to 2 HP for 230 volt A-C input. The line voltage varies plus or minus 10% of the rated line voltage. The line frequency is 48 to 62 hertz. The maximum allowable symmetrical A-C line fault current is 10,000 amperes. The available field current is 2.0 amps. The available field voltage for a 115 volt A-C input is 50 volts, and the available field voltage for a 230 volt A-C input is 100 volts. The rated armature current ranges between 2.5 and 10.0 amps. The rated A-C line ranges between 3.1 and 12.5 amps. The input KVA ranges between 0.36 and 2.9. The D-C armature voltage for a 115 volt A-C input is 90 volts, and the D-C armature voltage for a 230 volt A-C input is 180 volts.
Mount the controller in an unrestricted area where it will have adequate ventilation. Leave at least an inch of clearance around the controller for service access. In order to access the fuse cap, leave at least 4 inches of space above the controller. Mount the controller with the fuse on the right side. Always plan for adequate cooling. Upon startup, check the direction of the motor rotation. This applies for all controller models. If the motor shaft rotation is incorrect, press the Stop switch to completely stop the motor. Disconnect all power and reverse the motor armature power leads A1 and A2. Re-apply A-C input power and check the direction of rotation again.
