About the DC1-42U
Reliance Electric manufactures DC1-42U, an open chassis DC1 controller. This controller is a basic plus Process control, speed control controller. This unit includes J8, the process control interface jumper. Select the J8 jumper position based on the process control signal to be used. If the process control signal is 1-5 mA, the Jumper Position is 5 mA. If the process control signal is 4-20 mA, the Jumper Position is 20 mA. If the control signal is 10-50 mA, the Jumper Position is 50 mA. If the process control signal is 0-10 VDC, the Jumper Position is 0-10 V.
If the controller incoming line fuse blows when power is applied to the controller, there may be faulty incoming A-C line wiring or an inadvertent ground in the branch circuit or within the controller enclosure. If this occurs, check all incoming A-C wires and terminations to and within the controller, correct any faulty wiring and remove any grounds, and/or replace the blown fuse. When the Start command is given and the controller incoming line fuse blows, there are five possible issues going on. For one, the motor armature may be shorted or grounded. The SCR may be shorted or the regulator may be faulty. The connection may be loose, corroded, or faulty, or the wiring may be grounded or incorrect. There may be a sudden, severe application of overload to the motor. Lastly, the circuit board may be faulty. If the circuit board, regulator, or SCR are faulty, the user must replace the entire controller. Alternatively, you may have to replace a blown fuse.
