About the DC1-46U
DC1-46U is a basic plus process control DC1 series controller. This open chassis, special customer model is produced by Reliance Electric. Features of this model which has an isolated process control interface, include motor speed adjustment by potentiometer in manual mode or process control output signal in automatic mode. This drive controller also includes manual/automatic mode switching by selector switch, process control signal input selection by jumper, an isolated input 300K ohm differential, a Process Interface (PI) Gain adjustment, and a Process Interface (PI) Bias adjustment.
Part of starting up the controller involves checking the direction of the motor rotation. In order to accomplish this, press the Run button and then quickly press the Stop switch. If the motor shaft doesn’t rotate because all potentiometers are set up to minimum levels, turn the Speed or Torque potentiometer slightly clockwise and repeat the Start/Stop operation. The motor shaft rotation may be incorrect. If this is the case, press the Stop switch and wait for the motor to completely stop. Then remove A-C input power, and reverse the motor armature power lead A1 and A2. In order to check the direction of the motor rotation again, re-apply A-C input power. Some applications utilize D-C tachometer speed feedback. For these applications, the polarity of the tachometer changes when the direction of rotation of the motor is changed. The connection of the tachometer must remain 419 negative with respect to 519 for a given direction or rotation. The tachometer polarity was correct if the direction of the motor rotation was wrong.
