About the DC1-53U
DC1-53U is an open chassis controller that is designed for torque control. The DC1-53U is a Reliance industrial product. In order to operate this model, the user must synchronize the driven machine section with other process machine sections on which a drive establishes line speed consistently and reliably. The user must provide a means of measuring torque before applying power to the drive controller. One such method is measuring armature current. Then the user must load the motor with a reasonable constant load over the speed range. In order to load the torque cell for maximum torque, the user must re-establish the torque load on the motor. Lastly, after pressing the Run button, the user must slowly turn the Torque pot to maximum torque.
The user can then adjust the minimum and maximum torque pots until the desired minimum and maximum torques are reached, respectively. In order to adjust the speed limit on this model, the motor must be uncoupled from the load. Turn the torque pot fully CW, adjust the speed limit pot for maximum desired motor application speed (90/180 VDC on the armature), and return the Torque pot fully CCW.
Basic features of the torque control model include a motor torque adjustment by potentiometer, independently adjustable maximum and minimum torque, fixed rate reference timing, adjustable speed limit by voltage limit or motor mounted D-C tachometer feedback, and jumper selectable voltage feedback scaling at either 90 or 180 volts. This model also includes all the basic features (detailed in the user manual) of the DC1 controller.
