Product Description

The Reliance Electric DC2 family includes the DC2-40U controller.The controller is specifically performance sized to Reliance Electric DC motors for a compact controller/motor package.

The controller accepts 1 phase power input. The required input voltage is 115 or 230VAC. At 115VAC, the controller is rated for 90V armature and 50V field supply. At 230VAC, the controller is rated for 180V armature and 100V field supply. The DC2-40U operates at 1.0/2.0 HP. The controller is built with an open or plate style chassis. The power line frequency requirement is 50/60Hz.

The DC2-40U is rated for 12.5 input amps. The speed/voltage limit on a DC2-40U is 20 to 110% of base speed.
The features of the DC2-40U controller include full-wave, half-controlled armature voltage rectifier; half-wave field supply for shunt wound DC motors; optional short circuit protection; line transient protection; armature current scaling; unidirectional operation; motor overload protection; and provisions for remote start, remote stop, and remote run/jog.

The DC2-40U controller has a speed control feature. The method of speed control is by armature voltage regulation or motor mounted DC tachometer. The DC2-40U controller has potentiometer motor speed adjustment and separately adjustable maximum and minimum speeds. The controller also has independently adjustable rates and adjustable current limit. The controller has armature voltage feedback scaling (90 or 180 volts) and adjustable IR drop compensation.

The DC2-40U controller features run/jog capability for local or remote requirements.
