About the DC2-54U

The DC2-54U Flat Plate Motor Controller from Reliance Electric is one of several DC2 Variable Speed drives that we have in our ready-to-ship stock.   These controllers are designed to convert AC power into adjustable DC power. 

The DC2-54U offers torque control for DC motors rated between ¼ HP and 2 HP.    This unit is a basic flat plate motor controller with an added process control interface.  The until offers unidirectional operation and coast-to-rest stop.    It has options for remote start, stop, and remote run and jog.  Motor torque on this unit is adjustable via a mounted potentiometer.   The unit has independently adjustable min and max torque as well as independently adjustable-rate reference timing.   The unit includes selectable armature voltage feedback scaling.  This is selected using a jumper located on the controller’s surface.  See associated manuals for additional details. 

The DC2-54U must be mounted to a metal plate measuring 18 inches by 18 inches in order to meet the unit’s manual specified 1 HP @ 115 VAC and 2 HP @ 230 VAC ratings.  

The DC2-54U is designed with standoffs and factory drilled holes to allow for mounting.  The board includes multiple potentiometers and transistors.  Additionally, the board includes several connection points including terminal blocks located along its bottom edge.  This should simplify the wiring process. Mounted components are marked with reference designators and also sometimes carry their own part ID.  If you need more information about a particular mounted component, refer to their individual data sheets.
