About the DC2-70G
The DC2-70G drive was manufactured by Reliance Electric Rockwell. Within its enclosed design, the DC2-70G drive has a line voltage of 115/230 VAC or 50/60 Hz and is equipped with a NEMA 12k enclosure with operator control. The drive has a motor horsepower from either ¼ to 2 HP.
The DC2-70G comes with a start/stop and speed input capability for normal applications, which is controlled by the armature voltage regulation or motor mounted D-C tachometer. The DC2-70G drive is also heavily adjustable, flexible for any situation and able to be tailored to the user’s needs. This includes potentiometer motor speed adjustment, separately adjustable maximum and minimum speeds, independently adjustable rates, adjustable current limit, and adjustable IR drop compensation. The DC2-70G drive come with a full wave and half-control power conversion with a back diode used for efficiency in power conversion, armature waveforms, and cool motor operation over large operating speed ranges.
Within the DC2 series drives, there is also a voltage regulator, an AC input voltage jumper, an s-curve acceleration jumper, a minimum speed disable jumper, a tach scaling jumper, and a voltage/tach feedback jumper. The tachometer requirements are either 7 VDC or 20.8 VDC per 1000 RPM design. Also within the DC2 series drives is a power cube which has within it all power semiconductors for reliable function and better maintenance time. Also included is a built-in half-wave field supply for operation of wound field motors and a built-in surge suppressor which helps protect semiconductors from line transients for more reliable use.
