About the DC2-72G
The DC2-72G drive was manufactured by Reliance Electric Rockwell and is a VS motor controller drive with a NEMA 12k enclosure.
The DC2-72G features a controllable speed using an armature voltage regulation/motor mounted D-C tachometer, a potentiometer motor speed adjustment, an adjustable maximum and minimum speed settings, independently adjustable rates, adjustable current limits, and an IR drop compensation adjustment system.
With the DC2-72G drive’s Isolated Process Control Interface, the drive’s speed controls also include a potentiometer for and adjustable motor speed in manual mode or a process control output signal in automatic mode (manual/automatic mode switching using a selector switch), an isolated input of 300K ohm differential, an adjustable process interface gain and bias, a ramp generator, and an auxiliary form C contact for run indication.
The DC2 drive series as a whole features a 50/50 cycle power without any modification, a full-wave and half-controlled armature voltage rectifier in addition to a back diode for enhanced armature form factor, a half-wave field supply for shunt wound D-C motors, an optional short-circuit protection using an incoming internal line fuse, a unidirectional operation using coast-to-rest stop, and a motor overload protection using an internal motor thermostat.
Within the DC2 series drives, there is also a voltage regulator,an s-curve acceleration jumper, an AC input voltage jumper, a tach scaling jumper, a minimum speed disable jumper, and a voltage/tach feedback jumper. The tachometer requirements are either 7 VDC or 20.8 VDC per 1000 RPM design. Additionally within the DC2 series drives is a power cube which has within it all power semiconductors for reliable function and better maintenance time. Also included is a built-in half-wave field supply for use of wound field motors and a built-in surge suppressor which helps shield semiconductors from line transients for more reliable use.
