About the DC2-84U

The DC2-84U is a Reliance Electric variable speed motor controller.  This is one of several DC2 motor controllers available in our on-hand stock.  Please take a look at our other offerings if this particular model doesn’t meet your needs.

The DC2-84U is a 115/230 VAC motor controller.   It is built within a standard NEMA 4/4X/12 enclosure designed for indoor use.  This enclosure will protect the controller from splashing or seeping water and includes water-tight conduit hubs for safe conduit connections.

The DC2-84U offers several torque features.  This includes maximum and minimum adjustable speed, a ramp generator, and motor torque adjustments.  The maximum speed of the motor base speed can be controlled with a potentiometer and set from 50% to 100%.  The minimum speed can be set using a potentiometer or using a zero-speed jumper.   With the former, the minimum speed is 10 to 50% of max speed.  With the latter, it can be set to anywhere from 0 to 50% of max speed.   Motor torque can be set to a maxim of 150% of rated motor torque.

Before unboxing your part, make sure to read through and understand all installation instructions including wiring and handling guidelines.   When AC power is connected to this unit, the equipment is at line voltage.   Do not install, adjust or service the equipment unless you understand all safety precautions first.  Failure to understand this information may result in severe injury.  All installation instructions were provided by the OEM in original documentation like manuals and user guides.
