About the DC3N-12D-00-010-AI
DC3N-12D-00-010-AI is a Reliance Electric DC3 simple non-regenerative drive. “00” indicates that there is a chassis enclosure for the drive. The isolated reference input of the AI drive is 0-10 VDC and 4-20 mA. To protect the drive chassis, use an external fuse. Fuse blocks are included on enclosed drives only. Use fast-acting fuses that are approximately 150% of the maximum armature current for drives rated 250 VAC or higher.
DC3N drives require an additional heat sink if they are enclosed in a chassis. When installing an isolation transformer on the drive, install a power disconnecting device between the primary and the power line of the transformer. The input isolation transformer prevents damaging line voltage transients from reaching the drive. They also prevent line noise from the drive from coming back to the incoming power source. Lastly, the input isolation transformer protects against damaging currents that could develop if the drive becomes grounded by a point inside the chassis.
When operating the drive, remember to disconnect from the AC line voltage before changing the voltage switch settings. The motor will overspeed if the switches are improperly set to a higher voltage position. If the motor overspeeds, it may result in motor damage, bodily injury, or loss of life. Damage to the transformer may occur if the switches are improperly set to a lower voltage position. When running the drive, if the motor or drive are not performing as described, immediately disconnect the AC line voltage. Equipment damage, bodily injury, and/or loss of life may occur if caution warnings are not followed. There is no reason why the user should operate the equipment without professional knowledge of the operation and service of these drives.
