About the DC3N-12D-4X-010-AI
DC3N-12D-4X-010-AI is a Reliance Electric DC3 simple non-regenerative drive. “4X” means that the drive is contained in a NEMA 12/4/4x enclosure. “AI” means that the drive has an isolated reference input of 0-10 VDC and 4-20 mA. This drive is designed to be mounted vertically on the panel wall inside the NEMA 12/4/4x enclosure. As an enclosed drive, DC3N-12D-4X-010-AI does not require a second heat sink to operate. Sufficient heat sinking ability is contained within the NEMA enclosure.
Recommended line fuse sizes range from 5 to 15 amps, depending on the drive VDC and horsepower. The speed adjust potentiometer comes installed on all enclosed controls. The AC line power leads of the power input must connect to terminals L1 and L2, or to a double-throw, single-pole master power switch as shown in Figure 6 of the user manual. Install a master power switch in the voltage input line. Both NEMA enclosures may be wall mounted vertically via slotted holes on the attached heat sink. The voltage switch must match the AC line voltage and the maximum armature voltage. Derate the nameplate motor speed and torque by at least 30% if using a 90 VDC or 130 VDC motor with a 230 VAC line voltage.
If the user must frequently start and stop the drive, be careful to watch for high torque that may damage the motor. To brake, apply a dynamic brake to the motor, decelerate to a minimum speed, or short the inhibit terminals. These methods are not appropriate for emergency stopping. The AC power will not be disconnected during starting and stopping with the inhibit terminal pins.
