The 0-49005-5 is a Linear Voltage Time Unit.  This component is from Reliance Electric. 

The 0-49005-5 is a component in Reliance’s CardPAK Engineered series DC drives.  This series is similar to the FlexPak and MinPak series from Reliance Electric. 

The 0-49005-5 is a small device that is used as a regulator for voltage through closed feedback loops to the unit’s output terminals.  The unit acts as a sort of step-down converter, responding to changes in load quickly.  Datasheets from Reliance or ABB will provide more information about the Linear Voltage Time Unit’s max temperature range, drop out voltage, and other important information. 

The  0-49005-5 is designed with internal components like printed circuit boards encased in a plastic protective external enclosure.  This enclosure is open on the bottom edge where the unit connects to other devices, allowing the leading edge of one circuit board to extrude at this point.  Other surfaces have openings to allow for proper airflow.   The external enclosure is black except for the front faceplate.  This is silver and red and is marked with the unit’s part number and the Reliance name.  There are also two marked rotary dials, one noted as Rate-1 and the other as Rate-2.  Both dials can be set anywhere on a range from zero to ten.
