About the 0-51385
The 0-51385 is a PC Board Compression Network created by Reliance Electric. This board may have also been sold under the manufacturing names ASEA BROWN BOVERI, Allen Bradley, and Baldor Reliance depending on what year it was mass-produced. It has the alternate part number O51385. This part has been discontinued by the manufacturers, so it can be sometimes hard to find. AX Control offers this board as new surplus stock part or a refurbished part.
The 0-51385 is a circuit card used in an Armature Rectifier Assembly. The circuit card is typically located in a metal power module assembly under a pair of phase rectifier modules. There are wires running from the compression network through the power module assembly to the rectifier stacks.
The main purpose of the 0-51385 is to provide power to Reliance Electric DC drives. These drives use the rectifier assemblies to convert single-phase AC power into adjustable DC power. This is done because DC power is easier to control because it only flows one way.
The circuit board has three metal rectangular relays with four wire attachments each (two on the top, two on the bottom). There are six blue resistors on the circuit board. The circuit board also has a large cluster of twisted black and orange wires with small metal eyelets on the end of each wire. There are also six large red circular variable resistors on this board.
