About the 0-51847-1
0-51847-1 Voltage Detector Board
The 0-51847-1 is a board component originally fabricated by Reliance Electric. This circuit board is now obsolete and is no longer actively manufactured by Reliance. Due to various name changes over the history of the company, your board may be marked Baldor-Reliance or ABB (Asea Brown Boveri.) The board number should be the same.
The 0-51847-1 functions as a Voltage Detector board. It has a front faceplate attached to the circuit board via three screws threaded through from the bottom of the board. This faceplate includes reference to the board number and name (VLDB.) It also has the Reliance logo and a notation that “1 S Relay is energized when light is on.” This is notated under a single red LED indicator. The faceplate has one rotary dial that is labeled “Bias,” and six screw connections, five of which are labeled 1, 2, 3, 81, and 82.
The 0-51847-1 board is marked with a grid pattern. The grid is notated on one side of the board with numbers by fives and on another side of the board by letters. The edge of the board opposite the faceplate is populated by a ‘tail’ with conductive tabs. These act as a backplane connector. The board is populated by a single transformer, one relay mounted into a frame that has been screwed to the circuit board, integrated circuits, disc capacitors, transistors, and resistors typically made of metal film. Other capacitors are also used on the board; these are made from materials like polyester vinyl and aluminum electrolytic. The board has many instances of surface wiring, either from component to component or from board point to board point. More detailed information can be found through Reliance publications like user guides and manuals.
