0-52838 USRA Spindle Drive Board

The 0-52838 is a Reliance Electric URSA Spindle Drive Board.  This component is manufactured for various Reliance drive systems.   In rare cases, this component may be marked with an alternate manufacturer’s logo (ABB/Asea Brown Boveri or Baldor-Reliance) instead of Reliance.  The 52838 number will still be reflected in the part id. This board is discontinued by Reliance Electric.

The 0-52838 is designed with an attached faceplate, which includes set screws to lock the board into the rack system.  The faceplate has a single red LED indicator located in its top third. This is labeled “Low Torque.”

The PCB portion of the 0-52838 has eight polyester vinyl capacitors.  Three of these have secondary support attachments to the board. There are ten integrated circuits.  Other components include TP test points, transistors, diodes, resistors, and capacitors made from other materials. Surface wiring is used  in several places. It is drilled through its surface in two corners and along the edge in two places. The board is marked in a grid pattern.  It has a conductive backplane located along its rear edge.
