About the 0-52840-70
0-52840-70 CCC Card
The 0-52840-70 is a circuit board from Reliance for use in the company’s various drives. Depending on the year of manufacture, this board may be marked as manufactured by Reliance Electric, by Baldor-Reliance, or by Asea Brown Boveri. 52840-70 will always be a part of the part id.
The 0-52840-70 is one of several CCC boards within this board series. It has an attached front faceplate with eight rotary dials. These are labeled (top to bottom) as 1P, rate, stab, ref cal, tach cal, max arm volt, fld cur, and zero. Dials one through seven have the ability to be set on a range from zero to ten. The last dial adjusts on a +/- scale.
The 0-52840-70 has eight potentiometers lined up along its front edge. Each of these components connects to a dial in the faceplate. The board has capacitors made out of polyester vinyl and resistors made from metal film. The majority of the board is taken up by brass vertical pins. These are often located within printed boxes on the board’s surface that are labeled such things as “major loop compensate.” Other pins are individually labeled. These labels include such items as ‘current delay,’ ‘feed permissive,’ and ‘overload.’ Surface wiring is used in several locations on the board surface. The rear of the board extends in a tab that acts as a conductive backplane.
More information about this board can be found using Reliance publications like series user guides and product manuals. If detailed installation procedures are needed, please refer to these publications.
