About the 103779-2R
103779-2R
The 103779-2R is a board component fabricated by Reliance Electric LTD. for use within the company’s various drives. While this component is usually marked as a Reliance component, it is possibly the board you are replacing originally shipped not from Reliance, but from Baldor-Reliance or from Asea Brown Boveri. This is simply due to changes in the company structure. The part will always reflect the 103779-2 ID number.
The 103779-2 is a rectangular circuit board with an attached faceplate. The faceplate of the 103779-2 is populated by four rotary dials that can be set anywhere from zero to ten in increments of two-tenths. The dials are labeled (top to bottom) as ‘Limit 1,’ ‘Limit 2,’ ‘Zero Spd. Adjust,’ and ‘Jog.’ Each rotary dial connects to a potentiometer mounted into the rear surface of the faceplate. Each potentiometer then wires into the attached circuit board.
The board portion of the 103779-2 has three tabs extending from its front edge. These tabs allow just enough surface area to securely connect the faceplate. The rear edge of the board extends in a conductive backplane. The surface of the board is populated by eight rows of vertical metal quick-connect pins. Most of these are marked with some sort of designator, but some are blank. Surface wires connect to some pins. In other cases, resistors span the gap between them. Each faceplate potentiometer is wired to these pins.
