About the 419437-C
The 419437-C board component from Reliance Electric is a replacement board for the company’s Automax system. This interface board also may have been sold at different times under the company names ABB/Asea Brown Boveri or Baldor-Reliance. The part no longer receives support from the OEM but typically can be found with AX Control’s on-hand stock as never-used surplus or refurbished overstock.
The 419437-C functions as an adapter interface board between IBM compatible PCs and the Automax distributed control system. The card is used to help the two separate systems to exchange information. This information exchange occurs at 1.75 MB using onboard Network Communication software and fiber optic cabling.
The 419437-C is built with a front faceplate and a backplane connector that will plug into a standard Automax rack system. The unit does not include any sort of chassis or enclosure because of this. The unit also includes multiple Xilinx FPGAs, a DIP switch component, resistors, capacitors, jumpers, and various other components. The front faceplate includes two LED indicators that will help the user know when the module is operating properly or when it is in a fault state.
Additional information can be found through Reliance Electric manuals or user guides. These should be referred to for detailed descriptions of step-by-step instructions for installing the board, as well as for information about proper handling procedures.
