About the PISC-75
Overview
The PISC-75 is a DRIVE CONTROL BASE BOARD from Reliance Electric in GV3000/SE AC Drives. Specifically, it can be installed in 75-125HP drives and is generally used along with a 6.0 version regulator board. The 460VAC drives with which it is compatible are as follow:
- 75V4060
- 100V4060
- 125V4060
Visual Analysis
The PISC-75 drive is a large rectangular circuit board with a rectangular section cut out of the upper edge. There are four huge PCB electrolytic capacitors, eight large PCB electrolytic capacitors, eight medium PCB electrolytic capacitors, and five small PCB electrolytic capacitors. These capacitors are mostly contained to the left side of the circuit board (with the exception of one stray). There are other smaller styles of capacitor that don’t stand out right away as the PCB electrolytic capacitors do. These capacitors are called multilayer ceramic surface mount capacitors, and they are concentrated on the right side of the card. They are very small tile like capacitors that sit right on the surface of the circuit board. On the left side of the circuit board there is also two transformers, one is larger than the other. The larger transformer has a red wire, a white wire and a green wire coming from it and attaching to the circuit board. There are ten integrated circuits spread across the entire circuit board. The PISC-75 has about six white blocks placed on the left side of the card. The PISC-75 has fifteen Triacs across the left edge of the card. The PISC-75 features many styles of resistors including fusible style resistors, carbon film resistors, surface mounted resistors also called SMD. The surface mounted resistors look very similar to the multilayer ceramic surface mounted capacitors except the resistors are black in color and have white markings.
