About the DM-10D
The DM-10D is a BRU-200 10-amp model servo drive that has d-shell connections. This drive module was originally created by Reliance Electric and possibly sold by Baldor Reliance and/or ABB. None of these companies are continuing to offer support for this legacy drive, but AX Control still attempts to keep it in stock.
The main purpose of the DM-10D is to be able to provide and Electro-Craft motor with the power and control it needs to function efficiently. It is suggested by Reliance for this drive to be used with only the S-series of motors. The motors are the S-3007, the S-2005, and the S-2003. The drive utilizes a 16-bit microprocessor that makes use of serial interfaces from a programming terminal or PC to the drive module.
The DM-10D has an open-style chassis where a small portion of the internal circuitry is visible from the faceplate. There is a terminal strip that accepts the motor and I/O devices wiring. There is another terminal strip on the top left corner that is meant to accept the external shunt wiring. There are three RS-232 d-shell connection ports that have been labeled P3 Serial, P2 Motor Encoder, and P1 Controller. There are 4 LEDs on the top right corner that are labeled 1-4 and glow to indicate whether or not there are faults detected within the drive. There is a simple fan on the bottom side of the drive that facilitates air flowing through the internal components for the drive. This drive can be vertically mounted to a flat, smooth surface such as a panel.
