About the DM-20D
The DM-20D is a servo drive BRU-200 20-amp with a d-shell connector. This servo drive was made by Reliance Electric and is a part of their Legacy Series of parts. At one point, ABB or Baldor Reliance may have been making this drive but neither of them are offering support for it anymore. AX Control does attempt to keep it in stock as a new surplus or refurbished part.
The main purpose of the DM-20D is to be able to provide an Electro-Craft motor with power and control. It is suggested by Reliance that the user pair an F-Series F-4030 or an S-Series S-4030 or S-3016 with this type of drive.
The DM-20D has an open style chassis where a small part of the internal circuitry is visible from the faceplate. The faceplate of the DM-20D has two terminal strips on it. One is labeled external shaft TB2 and Internal. The other one is labeled TB1 and has connections for the motor and DC bus. There are also a set of six connections that are labeled P6-serial, P5-monitor, P4-motor encoder, P3-enc. out, P2-I/O, and P1-controller. There are 4 LED indicator lights on the top of the faceplate that are labeled with the numbers 1-4. The top LED will glow green if the drive is functioning properly and the other three will glow red to indicate that something is not functioning right with the drive. On the bottom of the chassis, there is a fan and air vents that are used to keep the internal circuitry cool.
