About the DM-150
The DM-150 is a model of 150-amp BRU-500 Servo Drive that was created by Reliance Electric. The drive could have also been mass-produced by Baldor Reliance or ABB depending on when its production years were. Because none of these manufacturers continue to support this drive, it may be a little difficult to find. AX Control, however, makes every effort to keep it stocked as a new surplus or refurbished drive.
The DM-150 is a 3-Phase 170/340 VDC, 120/240 VAC, and 50/60Hz brushless servo drive module. Its bus voltage is between 125-375 VDC but can be 325 VDCs when it has a 230 VAC input. It has an ambient temperature of roughly 0 to 50 degrees Celsius. It weighs 11.0 kg. It can retain a command signal input that ranges between +/-10 VDC. It can maintain a continuous amperage of around 65A with a total peak amperage of 150A. The maximum total wattage loss for this drive is 300 watts with the normal wattage loss only being around ½ that amount.
The DM-150 is meant to be a device that offers control and power to an Electro-Craft type motor. The specific motors recommended for this drive are in the S-Series. They are the S-8500 and the S-6300. The DM-150 should be installed onto a flat surface like a backplane or a panel. There are dual mounting brackets on the top and bottom side of the chassis that can be used to install this drive onto its mounting surface. It is advised when mounting the drive to use bolts and washers to help maintain a flat and secure mounting. This drive shouldn’t be mounted directly near any other devices to help keep the drive from overheating.
