About the DM-25
The DM-25 is a BRU-500 series 25HP Brushless Servo Drive. It was designed by Reliance Electric and may have been sold as an ABB or Baldor Reliance product.
The DM-25 is 120/240 VAC, 170/340 VDC and 50/60Hz. It has a short circuit system rating of 5kA. It has a peak amperage of 25A and a continuous amperage of 20A. It can maintain a +/-10 VDC with 13.3K ohms impedance. It has a power loss maximum of 120 watts. This drive is meant to supply a motor with control and power. The suggested motors for this drive are Electro-Craft S-Series or F-series. The user can equip an S-3007, S-3016, S-4030, or F-4030 motor with this drive.
The DM-25 has a very simple chassis. It has a series of 4 LED lights that are labeled numerically 1-4. They glow red when there are errors detected in the drive and the green indicator glows when everything is functioning. It has a set of 6 connectors that are labeled P1 through P6 and are also labeled with what type of connection it is. The labels read controller, I/O, encoder in, encoder out, monitor, and serial. On the bottom of the chassis are a pair of airflow fans that help maintain airflow to the internal circuitry of the drive. This drive weighs 24.2 lbs.
The DM-25 should be installed on a flat surface like a panel or backplate of an enclosure. This drive should be installed in an indoor environment away from liquids, conductive particles, and corrosive materials.
