The 9106-0003 is a 30-amp Reliance Electric Electro-Craft BSA Series Brushless Servo Amplifier Drive. It may have also been under production with ABB or Baldor Reliance during the years it was being manufactured, but it is now no longer receiving any type of support from these original manufacturers. The BSA series has become difficult to locate, but AX Control still tries to keep it in stock. The 9106-0003 may also be known under the alternative part number BSA-30X.
The 9106-0003 is a square-wave brushless servo amplifier. It has the ability to power Electro-Craft LD, S, and F Series motors. The recommended motors that should be used with this amplifier are the S-4030-M, S-4050, S-4075, F-4050, F-4075, and the LD-4030. These motors typically have max speeds that range between 1500 RPMs (for the F-4075) to 4000 RPMs (for the S-4030-M).
The 9106-0003 comes with a pre-installed external heatsink on its left side. This model is the only one available with the added heatsink. This heat sink will help to keep the internal components within this servo amplifier cool. There are air vents on the top and bottom of this module that will also help to keep it cool. This device should be mounted onto a flat surface like the plate of an enclosure. It needs to be mounted vertically with proper spacing around it to also aid with internal air circulation. This device should be mounted in a clean environment that is free of corrosive and combustible materials. It should be operated in temperatures between +32 to +120 degrees Fahrenheit with a 5-95% relative humidity.
