About the BSA-30X
The BSA-30X is a 30-Amp Electro-Craft Brushless Servo Amplifier Drive. It was originally made by Reliance Electric and possibly sold by Baldor Reliance or ABB depending on its production years. It is a little hard to find now that none of these companies offer support for it, but AX Control does still try to keep it stocked.
The BSA-30X has an input of 120 VAC 1-Phase 50/60Hz and an output of 120 VAC and 0-400 Hz. It should be used with the F-4075, S-4075, F-4050, S-4050, LD-4030, and S-4030-M motors. The max speeds of these motors range from 1500 RPMs to 4000 RPMs. It has a drive current between 15 to 30 amps, a shunt power between 50-1000 watts, and a 22 K ohms VCS input impedance. This servo amplifier should only be operated in temperatures between +32 to +122 degrees Fahrenheit with a relative humidity of 5-95%.
On the left side of the BSA-30X is a preinstalled heatsink. This model is the only one available with the added heatsink. On the right side of the module is a chart that details the patterns the LED indicators will glow to indicate system faults. Some of these faults within the system indicate no incoming AC or an internal power supply failure, a motor over-temperature, an output short-circuit (over current), a Bus overvoltage, an AC line loss, a drive over-temperature, and a logic supply fault. There are a total of four LED indicators on the faceplate that will glow when they detect these faults. These LEDs are labeled LED1, LED 2, LED 3, and Logic P/S.
