About the 1FR2032
1FR2032 is a FlexPak 3000 regenerative drive by Reliance Electric. This drive has a rated horsepower of 1.5-HP. When installing the drive, the user must also install an input disconnect (according to the NEC and CEC). Any fused disconnect or circuit breaker in the incoming A-C line must accommodate a maximum symmetrical A-C fault current. It is important to make sure the disconnect switch in clear view of the machine operators and maintenance personnel. Doing so allows for easy access to the switch and increases the overall safety. The disconnect must be sized to handle the transformer primary current and any additional loads the disconnect may supply. If an isolation transformer is used, wire the disconnect in the isolation transformer’s primary circuit.
A motor must also be installed in order to run the drive. The motor must match the horsepower rating of the drive. The user must ensure coupled applications have correct shaft alignment with the driven machine. Otherwise, ensure that belted applications are installed with the appropriate sheave/belt alignment; this helps alleviate any unnecessary motor loading. The user should install a protective guard around all exposed rotating parts if the motor is accessible by maintenance personnel while it is running. The last step is wiring the motor to the drive. The wire used must be either twisted double or twisted triple conductor wire, 2 twists per inch. The wire must be stranded copper and AWG N. 16, 600 VAC rated. It should have polyvinyl chloride insulation and a temperature range of 40°-105° C.
